Opportunities "OPPS" Adult Day Training Program




















The Adult Day training program focuses on providing meaningful work for people with disabilities. We call our program "Opportunities" to stress the many opportunities that are available at our facility and in the community.

The "OPPS" Program serves the residents of Duvall Home as well as members of the community. We assist adults to develop and enjoy continuous education in order to live a more independent lifestyle. Vocational training and community experiences are major components of our program.

 
Our program offers training in areas such as:

  • Technology/Computer Skills
  • Communication Skills
  • Life Skills
  • Pre-Vocational Skills
  • Job Skills
  • Supported Employment
  • Social Skills
  • Leisure/Recreation Activities
  • Community Awareness
  • Self-Advocacy
  • Personal Care Skills
  • Medication Education
  • Fine Dining Etiquette



What We Are Doing

Currently the OPPS Program is extending its reach into the community by volunteering at our Bargain Shop and delivering "Meals on Wheels" every week. We are also in the process of adding new sites for regular community work.

Additionally we are producing several items for sale for the Spring Season. We are making three delicious dessert mixtures, Blondies, Monkey Cookies, and Chocolate Cherry Brownies, in a decorated jar for $10. As usual we also have handmade greeting cards for sale. All items are made to order by our OPPS daily participants. All funds raised will go directly to benefit the OPPS program.
