"And the winner is....The Duvall Home took first prize in the Holiday Magic Festival of Trees! Thanks Florida Hospital Fish Memorial! 

What a fabulous event and appropriately named Holiday Magic! There were so many equally deserving non-profits that participated in the contest that it was beyond belief when they announced the Duvall Home as the winner…and then it snowed which truly made the celebration magical.

The Duvall Home's tree décor was a team effort. The ribbon, dried flowers, and design was prepared by our Development Team, the tree topper bow was made by our receptionist, and the cards and gift tags that served as ornaments were created (with some help from staff) by our residents that participate in our adult day training program-nicknamed "Opps" for opportunities.

A Lifetime of Opportunity is the part of our mission that we chose to convey. That is exactly what we offer to the 140 individuals with developmental disabilities that are residents of the Duvall Home.

The prize money will help us to support our overall mission to provide the highest quality of life and greatest level of independence for each of our residents. This event is a great example of how non-profit organizations can collaborate to help one another. Thank-you Florida Fish Memorial Hospital for this wonderful community event, the opportunity to be part of it, and for your compassionate generosity."
