A Horse is a Horse of Course . . . Hope Reins visits the Duvall Home.
Hope Reins, a non-profit Therapeutic Riding Center at Marcody Ranch in New Smyrna Beach, visited the residents of Duvall Home on Tuesday, January 31st. With them they brought two beautiful and loving horses, Ice and Robin. Duvall residents took turns petting, grooming, and taking their picture with the horses and also enjoyed a demonstration about horseback riding by Hope Rosenthal, the owner of Hope Reins.
The Duvall Home has formed a wonderful relationship with Hope Reins whose mission is to improve the lives of special needs riders through a high quality therapeutic riding program and horse-related activities. Hope Reins provides horseback riding for several of Duvall Home residents on a regular basis and as always, "The staff and volunteers at Hope Reins are fantastic and truly care about the work they are doing," states Duvall Home's Recreational Coordinator Cindy Jakobowski. "Usually we take three or four residents to the ranch but today they brought the horses here. It was great that nearly all of our 140 residents had the opportunity to pet a horse today!"
Hope Reins, located at 3804 Pioneer Trail, New Smyrna Beach, FL has been a long-time supporter of the mission of the Duvall Home. The Duvall Home is a non-profit organization and a leader in providing quality care to individuals with developmental disabilities for over 65 years. For more information visit www.duvallhome.org.
